Welcome to Gillingham School Alumni
Calling All Former Gillingham Students & Colleagues
Do you have a particular memory of your time at the school?
Can you remember the School Song?
A key aim of our 500 Year Anniversary is to establish a Gillingham School Alumni Society. If you are a former student or colleague of the school, why not get in touch via ‘liking’ our official school Facebook page, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be using these, as well as the regular school newsletters, to promote events and activities linked to the school’s anniversary, including promoting opportunities for you to get more involved.
We are currently in the process of compiling a year of celebratory events and activities, including a Founders’ Day Ball, a commemorative sculpture, theatrical performances, sports events and displays of memorabilia, amongst others. Our hope is that many former students and colleagues of the school will get involved and help us to mark this fantastic occasion. For example, we are planning to use some of the memories shared by former students as the starting point for some drama performances throughout 2016. There will also be a specially convened community choir to perform the School Song as part of our closing Anniversary concert.
Celebrate the Past - Build for the Future
We are really looking forward to celebrating our birthday and remembering how the school, the town and the surrounding community has developed over that time, what we have achieved as a school, and what those of you who were once pupils here have achieved since. We also look forward to the next 500 years, and making sure that our current students continue to have every bit as much to celebrate when they look back on their time at the school. I’m sure that future staff and governors will enjoy finding out what they go on to do just as much as we do now.
